Scholars’ Day

Ramapo College Scholars’ Day provides the Ramapo College community with an opportunity to celebrate the聽聽the creative and scholarly achievements of its students. Students聽who have engaged in a research oriented or creative process聽under the guidance of a faculty mentor are encouraged to聽submit a proposal. The selection of posters which will ultimately be聽presented is competitive, with a limit of just two posters allowed聽per聽school聽program.聽

During the April 30, 2014 Scholar’s Day,聽Spanish Language Studies聽student, Victoria Grey,聽presented her very own poster in Friends Hall! Her project聽was titled聽“‘I feel robbed’: an exploration of the causes of the loss and maintenance of Spanish in Latin American children of the second generation,” and was directed with the help of Associate Professor of Spanish, Natalia Santamaria-Laorden.聽

Two posters were selected to represent the work from students in Spanish in this year鈥檚 scholars鈥 day, to be held on Wednesday April 27, 2016. Stephanie Manzanares will present 鈥淪anteria and Catholicism: A Critical Comparison鈥. Keri Race will share her work on 鈥淭he Role of Language in Health Care in the United States: The Defense of Bilingualism鈥.
