About the Minor

The Museum and Exhibition Studies Minor serves students interested in learning about the role that museums and other exhibition spaces serve in society.听It is a first step for those interested in careers in museums, whether in education, research, design, development, or communications.听听The program combines historical study with site visits, case studies, and the choice of an internship or the opportunity to engage in the analysis of emerging museum and exhibition practices through a guided independent study.

Requirements of the Minor
  1. Students are required to take 5 courses (20 credits) to complete this minor.
  2. At least 1/2 of the courses fulfilling a minor must be distinct from the student鈥檚 major. That is, three of the five courses required for a minor cannot be used towards fulfillment of major requirements. A school core does not need to be completed for a minor. Minors are open to students regardless of school affiliation.
