\n(The FA is open to a general College audience, including administrators, but only FA members may vote.\u00a0 Faculty, including library faculty, and all full-time employees contractually obligated to teach are FA members as defined by our bylaws.)<\/p>\n
Presenters:<\/strong> Naseem Choudhury (FA President), Scott Frees (Moderator), Ed Shannon (Moderator)<\/p>\n Guests:<\/strong> Peter P Mercer (College President), Susan Gaulden (Provost), Rob Doster (CIO), Sarah Carberry (Chair, GECCo)<\/p>\n Started 1.05 due to webex issues.<\/b><\/p>\n Approval of Minutes (via Qualtrics)\u2014<\/b> October 7, 2020 were approved via Qualtrics Faculty Assembly President\u2019s Report<\/b><\/p>\n College President\u2019s Report:<\/b><\/p>\n The Provost\u2019s Report<\/b><\/p>\n Results of the survey will be distributed to faculty.<\/p>\n Spring schedule<\/b>: trying to make language clear and consistent (re: hybrid, asynchronous, etc.)<\/p>\n Provost Council:<\/b> dealing with the appropriate vocabulary for curriculum: terms like concentration, track, etc. are applied inconsistently across campus.<\/p>\n We need to develop guidelines and policies not just for \u201conline\u201d courses, but for \u201cremote delivery.\u201d We have reports of some students taking courses while driving and of non-students in the \u201cclassroom\u201d during class.<\/p>\n Comments Period (Open to all)<\/b><\/p>\n Announcements<\/b> Voting Items<\/b> You should have heard back if you submitted a course. \nGECCo: <\/b>new representative needed<\/b> for Systems & Sustainability. Ideally this representative should come from SSHS. It is not a requirement, but SSHS needs another person on the committee regardless. If no representative from SSHS, they will need to elect an at large member.<\/p>\n
\nEDIC Associate Director Position: <\/b>there is a search.
\nDeadline for Housing applications <\/b>for S2021 will be discussed at the town hall with students
\nConcerns about dead names <\/b>were voiced.
