The Nursing Programs of Ramapo College of New Jersey are accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN), 3390 Peachtree Road NE, Suite 1400, Atlanta, GA 30326.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Generic BSN curriculum <\/strong>&#8211; The generic curriculum is designed so that students complete all general education and science requirements in the first two years of the major. Upon satisfactory completion of all general education and science courses, students enter the nursing sequence which is two years in length. Upon graduation from the program, students are eligible to take the NCLEX exam for licensure as a registered nurse. The generic program offers two unique clinical partnerships, which greatly enhance the clinical education of the BSN students.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Accelerated BSN curriculum<\/strong> \u2013 This curriculum is designed for second degree students who have completed all pre-requisite general education and science courses. The 64 credit nursing\u00a0 sequence is offered across four semesters (summer\/fall\/spring\/summer).<\/p>\n<p>Clinical experiences for the pre-licensure programs are held at local Magnet Hospitals. These hospitals, such as the Valley Hospital, St. Joseph\u2019s Health, Holy Name, and Morristown Medical Center are recognized by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) as Centers of Excellence in nursing. Students are expected to supply their own transportation to and from the clinical sites. Transfer and second degree students are admitted to the major upon completion of the prerequisite courses and 64 college credits.<\/p>\n<p><strong>RN-to-BSN curriculum <\/strong>&#8211; The BSN program admits registered nurses, with either an Associates degree or diploma in nursing. These students transfer in credits from their initial nursing program and complete the general education and nursing requirements at Ramapo.\u00a0 Ramapo College has articulation agreements with Bergen Community College, County College of Morris, Rockland Community College, Passaic County Community College and Hudson County Community College.\u00a0 Graduates of diploma programs in nursing are granted 30 credits for their diploma nursing courses upon satisfactory completion of their first two BSN nursing courses.
