{"id":5439,"date":"2018-06-01T11:11:41","date_gmt":"2018-06-01T15:11:41","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ramapo.edu\/catalog-2018-2019\/?page_id=5439"},"modified":"2018-06-01T11:11:41","modified_gmt":"2018-06-01T15:11:41","slug":"waiver-of-general-education-requirements","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.ramapo.edu\/catalog-2019-2020\/academic-policies\/waiver-of-general-education-requirements\/","title":{"rendered":"Waiver of General Education Requirements"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Students who transfer to Ramapo College with at least 48 credits from an accredited institution of higher learning but without a completed associate of arts or associate of science\u00a0 degree may be waived from some general education requirements.<\/p>\n<p>Students who transfer to Ramapo College with at least 48 credits from an accredited institution of higher learning must transfer from that institution or complete at Ramapo College courses that meet the following Ramapo College general education requirements:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Critical Reading and Writing 102<\/li>\n<li>Quantitative Reasoning<\/li>\n<li>Scientific Reasoning<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>These students will be waived from all other keystone courses in the College\u2019s general education curriculum.<\/p>\n<p>In addition, these students must take one course from each of two of the following distribution categories at Ramapo College:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Culture and Creativity<\/li>\n<li>Values and Ethics<\/li>\n<li>Systems, Sustainability, and Society<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>During academic advisement, students will be advised of any applicable waivers of general education requirements as well as any remaining general education courses that they must complete to fulfill Ramapo College\u2019s degree requirements.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><a class=\"btn\" href=\"https:\/\/www.ramapo.edu\/catalog-2019-2020\/academic-policies\/\">Back to Undergraduate Academic Policies<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Students who transfer to Ramapo College with at least 48 credits from an accredited institution of higher learning but without a completed associate of arts or associate of science\u00a0 degree may be waived from some general education requirements.
