Before Cabaret<\/em>, before Chicago<\/em>, the\u2028legendary musical theater duo Kander and\u2028Ebb created Flora the Red Menace<\/em>. Flora\u2028Meszaros is a headstrong individualist\u2028taking on the world by storm. As an up-\u2028and-coming fashion designer in the 1930s,\u2028Flora leads an artists\u2019 cooperative of\u2028bohemian artists struggling to find work\u2028during the Great Depression. She falls in\u2028love with a quirky and charming organizer\u2028for the communist party who enlists her\u2028to unionize her co-workers. With a healthy\u2028dose of humor and skepticism, this musical pokes a fun at all those who take themselves and their causes too seriously. Filled with show stopping numbers and delightful lyrics, Flora the Red Menace <\/em>promises to be a unique and exciting version of this rarely produced gem.<\/p>\n
